On the WWW: Steve’s Digicams and Digital Photography Review

Are you just starting to think about getting a digital camera? Or maybe looking to upgrade the one you already have? And you’re not sure what to get? Well, you’re not alone.

One of the most commonly asked questions on the rec.photo.digital usenet newsgroup is “which camera should I buy?” There are two websites in particular that may help you to answer this question. Steve’s Digicams

(www.steves-digicams.com) and Digital Photography Review (www.dpreview.com) both contain extensive sets of reviews of digital cameras. Both sites offer detailed reviews of many models of cameras, including:

· Camera features,

· Complete specifications,

· The good and bad about a particular camera, and

· Sample photos taken by the camera.

Both sites are wonderful resources if you are in the market for a digital camera.

In general, Digital Photography Review has had a larger range of digital cameras reviewed, but Steve’s Digicams has reviews of other digital photography related hardware (e.g. scanners, camera accessories), some film cameras, and links to a number of photography-related software sites in addition to the digital camera reviews. Both are definitely worth a look!
